RUGBY

Rugby Club 2010The Willoughby Public School Rugby Club was established in 2008 by parents, to provide the opportunity for children to represent their school at a number of Primary School Sports Association (PSSA) and Australian Rugby Union gala days.

These Gala Days are normally held on weekdays during school hours. The club is not involved in any local weekend rugby competitions.

You do not need any prior experience for the Gala days. Teams are graded and cater for all levels of experience. All Coaches are accredited and have many years’ experience.

These Gala Days are normally held on weekdays during school hours. The club is not involved in any local weekend rugby competitions.

Since 2008 over 180 children at the school have enjoyed the opportunity to represent their school due to the commitment and dedication of a number of school parents in particular Stu Lough, David Ogilvie, Tim Wallace, Neil McCoubrey and Andrew McMichan.

More people play Rugby at WPS than at any other public school in the state.

ACCIDENT INSURANCE

Please note recent school communication on this topic. To insure your child against any medical costs of accidents arising at school you are strongly advised to take out private health insurance.

Parents/Carers are reminded that the department does not provide accident or medical insurance for students enrolled in government schools. The only cover provided by the state government is through the Supplementary Sporting Injuries Benefits Scheme, which covers all students permanently injured or killed while participating in authorised school sporting or athletic activities. The scheme does not cover dental injuries, reimbursement of medical expenses, legal expenses or costs.
