2020 Registrations now OPEN

Please use the following links to register for NSG and Netball, via the MyNetball website.

For girls playing NetSetGo and aged 7, 8 or 9 (in years 2 or 3 in 2020 and some ‘young’ Year 4), please use this link:

Players in Year 4 (2020) and not turning 10 in 2020, must register on the NSG form. However they are likely to be playing U10 Netball on Friday nights, dependent on registration numbers and grading results. (These players may then have the opportunity to repeat U10s in 2021, as playing in the correct age group is of great benefit to them.)

For girls playing Netball and aged 10, 11 or 12 (in years 4, 5 or 6 in 2020), please use the link below. Please note you will be asked to select up to 2 positional preferences for your daughter. Check with your daughter before you register, as these nominated positions are used for grading and team formation.

By registering, all players, parents, coaches, managers, umpires and spectators agree to abide by the Willoughby Netball Club’s Codes of Conduct.

We are looking forward to a fantastic 2020 season!

General Information
WPS Netball Club is a parent-run organisation encouraging all WPS students from Grade 2 to Grade 6 to participate in the sport of netball. Boys are welcome to play netball in a girls’ team until age 12.

Our teams play in the Northern Suburbs Netball Association (NSNA) winter competition, which runs from the beginning of April until the end of September. For more information regarding Netball, click here to go directly to the NSNA website.

All girls under 10 are eligible to participate in a modified rules version of netball, called NetSetGo. The NetSetGo Comp (formerly Nettas) is designed to teach younger players the rules of the game, as well as good sportsmanship and netball skills. NSG is played on SUNDAYS in 2020.

NetSetGo U8s and U9s are generally not graded and the girls mostly play in friendship teams. NetSetGo matches are played on SUNDAY mornings at either 9am, 10am or 11am at Willoughby Leisure Centre outdoor courts. The competition commences in late March 2020. Match times will be provided by NSNA in mid March 2020.

The top grade(s) of U9s NetSetGo may be played under full netball rules. This is generally for girls in their 3rd year of NSG.

Our U10s, U11s and U12s players, participate in Friday night netball, from 4.30-7pm at the Willoughby Leisure Centre outdoor courts. Some of the 12s teams may play on Saturday mornings at WLC. This will be determined by NSNA in March 2020.

All players, parents, coaches, managers, umpires and spectators must abide by the Willoughby Netball Club’s Codes of Conduct.

Team Grading

All U10s, U11s and U12s girls registering to play netball for WPS Netball Club will be individually graded and allocated to teams based on their skills and ability. The grading process is independent and is undertaken by graders provided by Northern Suburbs Netball Association.

Coaches and managers from the previous season are also asked to rank and review the players in their teams. The U10s, U11s and U12s teams play in a competition where all Clubs individually grade both their players and teams to ensure all girls are playing in the division which best reflects their capabilities.

In registering your daughter to play for WPS Netball Club you agree to accept this grading process and the decision of the Club on team selection.  If you chose to withdraw your daughter from the Club following grading you will forfeit the registration fee.You can see more about our grading policy here.

For NetSetGo, the netball convenors will do their best to ensure that all requests to play with friends are accommodated. All U9s girls who are in Year 3 in 2020 can remain in their friendship teams from 2019. Girls STARTING to play in the NetSetGo comp in Year 3, 2020, will be allocated a team to play with. Friendship groups will be accommodated where possible.

Important Age Note for 7 year olds (2020): players who commence NetSetGo at age 7 (based on calendar year), may be required to play 3 years of NetSetGo.

Please click here to read more about changes to calendar age-based teams in 2020  including FAQs.

Training begins in early March and is held either at School* or Willoughby Leisure Centre, before or after school. *Priority for the school court is given to the youngest teams. However the school court will undergo renovation in 2020, so an alternative training location may be needed for part of the season.

The training timetable is available from the end of February each season.

Please note that training days and times are subject to change, according to court and coach’s availability.

Codes of Conduct

WPS Netball Club has Codes of Conduct for all players, parents, guardians, spectators and coaches.  Failure to abide by the Codes of Conduct may result in expulsion from the club or a ban on attending matches.

Click here to read the Codes of Conduct.

Let’s be the Gold standard spectators!

Our club reputation is one of the best in the Association. Let’s keep it that way by ensuring all WPSNC spectators (parents, carers, visitors) know where they are allowed to stand to view the game. If we take the time to understand where we can stand around the court and hence keep out of the umpire’s way, they’ll be able to do a better job and we’ll all have a better netball experience.

Take a look at the court map below for clarification of netball spectator and umpire zones. Plus the best place for the scorers to stand.
